Hi, I wrote this to you, the group that inspired me to say NO! I will not just stand here and let you take my anonymity

Hello people of the internet,

USA has created a new thing called SOPA(stop online piracy act) which makes it posible for them to order sites to take away a video or even shut the site down! Allthough this is only for american sites this also affects the whole world. Think about it! they can shutdown Youtube, Facebook and twitter just with a tilt with the head.

I will now tell you a story which actually helps me make my point!:
1775: angry citizens in the british colonies located in North-America starts a revolution because the british didn’t give them “freespeech”, The now called americans won the revolutionary battle agaisnt the british and became a indipentent country with “freepseech”

now hundreds of years later they make SOPA to stop internet piracy, which affects the whole world, and over half the world is against it! but do they care. The answer must YOU find out! i write this to make you think, Is this right? can they do this? i say of course not! but other’s say yes they can!

SOPA is more of a copyright protector, not to stop piracy. Having a song on a video is not piracy! it’s against the copyright law.

The coperations is like a tree, they cover you from rain and the sun when its hot. In return we nutre it and make it grow bigger. But the tree grew to big and needed more nutreing and the roots is now dug far into the ground so it gets water by it self. But still! it needs nutreing, without us the tree would die. We keep the tree alive! and thats whats happend to the coperations! without them there would’nt be any copyright law. “but the copyright law has nothing to do with SOPA” you may think, I most sadly tell you “NO!” SOPA is a more intense version of the copyright law which gives them control over the common person.

But I’m not against the copyright law, but i’m against SOPA! with SOPA they can say “NO, you can’t do that” or “Hey, remove that video or we’ll remove the whole site!”. now that’s a violation of “freespeech”. Here in Norway we could’nt vote for DLD(DLD is to stop terrorism and things like that), they just said “Hey, some other countries has DLD! let’s just invade people’s privacy and yet it did’nt work. I do not want to go closer into that subject so let’s move on!

Many people that downloads games buys the game after they have played a bit to check if it’s crap or not. For many games doesn’t have a demo, AT ALL! and like me, if they like it they buy it. One of my friends downloaded Skyrim to see if it’s any good(of course he liked it!) after he had played it for 1-2 hours he went on Steam and bought the game. So is piracy that bad? and if the SOPA passes all american citizens that downloads anything ilegal can get a 5 year sentance in jail or 5000 dollars as a ticket.

If you have red the whole text, you might have found out that I havent said anything positive with SOPA, Mainly because I can’t find any. SOPA would have been ok if it was more like “SOHAS”(Stop Online Hacking And Scams) something i just made up.. That’s how hard it is to make SOPA.

to cut the text short! There is nothing positive with SOPA! and i say that as a Gamer! a daily user of the internet and Computers! Bring someone who knows a bit more about computers then just some old men that sits in a conference room and yells “HOW CAN WE EARN MORE MONEY!?” And these old men i speak of is millionaires that can almost buy a cottage made out of pure gold! An example is Activison, they have the most popular FPS(First Person Shooter) game in 2011 and they support SOPA. Why? Think now, they have the most popular FPS game in 2011 and it’s still rising i guess, what could they possibly achieve? If you haven’t figured it out I’ll help you, Zing zing! Cash! Money! Bethedasoft Has had the most sucsesful games since: The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and they are still sucsesful with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

So now i want you to think about all this! thinking is the solution! Show them we are serious, If you live in the US you can write to the senitors and if your from other parts of the world (like me) Write, Hate and Show them that we are serious! I’m only 15 and a half and i still support “STOP SOPA” because I don’t want to lose Youtube and those kind of sites! Now that i have done my part, it’s your turn! say what you mean and mean what you say! I say support anonymous! they fight for our anonymity!
